Do you have this for CCM please ?
Thanks for your help
Done!
I would like to see this updated for today 2022, please. I just got my son Jetspeed ft455 and am unsure if they are good enough for house league. Thanks
Do you have something similar for stick lineups?
No, but that’s a good idea.
The bauer supreme s29 is more equivalent to the former s180 instead of the s170.
Where does the Bauer Supreme Ignite and ignite pro fall on this list?
The ignite and ignite pro are based off of the s27 and s29 models shown on the chart with a couple minor upgrades.
Hi, I would like to ask where those Vapor Velocity would be in year and price? Thanks
This is a *great* list. Long story short: I got lucky with my 1st pair of skates, Mega Air 90s. I didn’t know anything, but I knew they were special. Bauer bought Micron. Bauer came out with their version, so I got their pair because I was worried that they’d kill them, which they did. Flash forward many years, I retired the Megas a few years ago, the ankles were shot. I’ve been wearing the Bauers, and now I’m nervous about what I’ll do next. This list is a good reference!
Eric – if you know, any suggestions for something after the Mega/Bauer Air 90s? I’ve been focusing on older Supreme’s, because I hear they might fit similarly.
Thanks!
So are the skate models in bold the ones you’d recommend for most beer leaguers then?
Great question.
That’s a point that people commonly feel like they reach a good price to performance. It’s also very consistent mid-point for most lineups.
CCM Tacks 9050 or Bauer Supreme s25?
Thanks for the article, very helpful!
I think I noticed some typos; 2019 CCM Ribcor line should be 74k, 76k, 78k, and 80k, no?
Hah, hillarious. Fixed.
Where do these fall on list?
Bauer S19 Vapor XLTX Pro+ SMU Senior Hockey Skates
I keep referring back to this table. I have tried a few used Bauers lately: One.8, One60, MX3, etc. None of them fit right. (I’ve tried D and EE; D is too tight, and EE is too wide; ugh! The heels is fine for them all, it’s the forefoot where the problem is.) I now have a pair of CCM 552s I’ll try this weekend. So far in my living room, they fit the best of all of them, and they’re more flexible like my old skates.
Coach Eric, I don’t know all the models, but maybe you could add a 2014 line for the CCM Tacks? I can help a little:
2052 – $110
3052 – $230
4052 – $330
5052 – $430
6052 – $530
Thanks!
Kevin.
Great list!
Thank you very much!
this is awesome. I hate how Bauer renames their lineup so often.
Where do the CCM RBZ and U+ skates fit in to this?
Jetspeeds replaced RBZ which replaced U+.
Thanks so much for this! Super helpful. 🙂
Why is Ultrasonic 2020 not included?
Worth a 2020 update?
I’m glad I found this chart as it isn’t easy to keep track of the ever evolving product lines. I hope it gets updated annually as it is a great reference point when deciding to buy a new skate or maybe even a closeout from a prior year when the price is right. This helps keep it all organized in one place thank you!
This is a very useful page. Thank you for all the hard work. Any plans for adding more recent skate models to the tables? Thanks.
9380 vs vapor 2.9 Goalie skates. Thanks very much
This is very helpful, I come back to it every year and with the pandemic where I downgraded my kids skates, it was a good reference to remind me of what model skates my kids had. Hope this will continue to be updated with current model years!! Really appreciate it!!
Is it common for a skate to increase in size when the laces are tied? Is this why one should get 1 to 1.5 sizes smaller than their shoe size? Is there a skate that does not do this or are they all like this?
This is an old comment, but I’ll put an answer for posterity.
It’s more about how people wear skates. It’s expected that the your toe will basically lightly touch the front of the skate.
You size the length for your foot’s length and then pick a model/fit/width for the width of your foot.
It’s very common that people wear shoes 1-2 sizes too big for comfort, and even fitted dress shoes don’t have your toe touching the front in the same way.
Wow, the only place in the whole Internet with this info! Many thanks.
Any chance of updating with 2020 and 2021 ranges?
Same request as Juri! This is awesome. Any chance you can add the 2021 Bauer lineup?
anyone know of a source of reebok skates prior to the ccm transition? specifically, I’m looking for ribcore models for the secondary market…
a couple seasons ago I picked up a pair of 42k from a fellow coach that I love and they fit me perfectly. I fell in love with the lace locks, too. I found a pair of 48k online and ordered them only to find that 48k are basic sporting goods store level skates. I probably paid more for them now than they were originally off the shelf. they were really soft and uncomfortable even after two bakes and had not been baked prior to my picking them up. I gave up on them after a month or two on the ice for my son’s team practices.
recently, I’m finding 5k, 6k, 11k, 12k, even 78k, and so on… some in great condition and some kinda beat up but good for a backup pair after I need to retire the current pair, or to even keep a pair in each bag so I’m not transferring the skates back and forth (which was why I bought the 48k).
I presume that some of the lower numbers might be just as good as the higher numbers as they’re just an older model. I just have no clue which sets of numbers came in what series/years and how to distinguish prior to having them in my hands and risking paying for something I’ll never use.
Awesome! Thanks so much for this!! Best resource online! Please, please update if you can. Thanks again!
Hi ! great list! any chance it could be updated with 2020, 2021 line ranges, and Bauer Vapor 3x line? That would be awesome!
This is a great post but very outdated. Is someone able to update this post with the 2019-2021 Supreme models? Its time for new skates and I am trying to compare to my old skates. This info is so handy though so thank you.
Please update to add models from the last couple of years. This is THE single most helpful resource when buying pre-owned skates for my son every year. Thanks in advance!!!
